President


Peter Webster is the President of Mercator Geological Services Limited and has worked as a geologist and senior manager in the resource industry with both small and large mineral exploration companies for over 27 years.  He is a Professional Geoscientist registered with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia and with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador. He graduated from Dalhousie University with a B.Sc. in Geology in 1981 and holds a Certificate in Environmental Management from the Technical University of  Nova Scotia, 1996 (C.E.M.).

Responsibilities have included implementation and management of grassroots and advanced staged mineral exploration projects for clients in Canada, Mexico, Australia and Russia.  He has provided property assessment, project design and program implementation for projects relating to precious metals and base metals as well as industrial mineral commodities.  Peter has worked with clients on development of exploration programs, detailed commodity or project assessments, regulatory filing documents, sampling protocols and chain of custody procedures.  He has provided project management and provision of on-site professional and technical assistance in addition to completion of data compilation/interpretation and GIS-based mapping.  Peter has participated in detailed property evaluations and resource estimation projects with associated technical reporting to National Instrument 43-101 standards.

Chief Geologist

Michael Cullen is the Chief Geologist at Mercator Geological Services and is a graduate of Mount Allison University (B.Sc., Hons.) and Dalhousie University (M.Sc.) and is a Professional Geoscientist registered with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia, Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist New Brunswick.  He has over 30 years of combined experience as a geologist and/or Senior Manager within the mineral exploration industry and, more recently, as a geological consultant to government and industry. He has been employed with Mercator Geological Services Limited since 2001. Technical assignments have included locations throughout Canada as well as in the United States, Africa, Australia and Russia. He has a strong background in detailed geological evaluation of mineral deposits with specific experience in precious metals, uranium, base metals and coal. He has also been involved in exploration and assessment of other commodities, including barite, gypsum, limestone, marble and coal bed methane.

Michael has substantial experience in exploration program planning and implementation as well as property reporting and completion of mineral resource estimation programs and reporting to National Instrument 43-101 standards. He has worked with industry and government bodies in environmental and regulatory permitting of open pit mining projects and has also supervised mine site reclamation work.

Senior Project Geologist

Paul is a Senior Project Geologist at Mercator Geological Services and rejoins the company after spending 3 years working in New Zealand and Australia.  He graduated from Dalhousie University in 1998 with a BSc. and Acadia University in 2002 with a MSc. He is a Professional Geoscientist registered with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia and with the Australia and New Zealand Professional Association MAusIMM.  Paul has over 15 years experience in the international mining and petroleum sectors and has a strong background in structural geology, sedimentology and stratigraphy, and 3D deposit modelling and resource estimation. He has experience managing large scale exploration projects including exploration for multi-billion tonne thermal coal deposits in the Galilee Coal basin in central Queensland Australia.

Paul has written numerous technical reports to the standards of both NI43-101 and JORC, and is strongly proficient in MapInfo, ArcGIS, Mapteck Vulcan 8.0, acQuire and speaks French.  He has also been involved in the interpretation of downhole geophysics, 2D/3D seismic profiles, EM-IP and airborne surveys.

Project Geologist/Surpac Specialist

Matthew is a graduate of Dalhousie University with Combined Honours in Earth Sciences and Biology and concentration in Environmental Studies. He joined Mercator in 2004, and has since focused on the evaluation and management of various geological projects through the use of Surpac© 3D software to reporting standards of National Instrument 43-101. This has involved design of diamond drill hole programs, drill hole database management, 3D wireframe and solids generation, geological interpretation, geostatistical analysis and block model resource estimations. Matthew has experience with various deposit styles present in Eastern Canada, including coarse-grained and disseminated gold, carbonate hosted base-metal, and porphyry polymetallic mineral deposits. In coordination with senior staff, his experience in deposit modeling through the use of Surpac© 3D software provides clients with management and support services through various project phases, including historic drilling database evaluation and validation, design of new drilling programs and completion of  block model resource estimations.

Project Geologist


Stewart graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science with honours in Geology. He joined Mercator Geological Services in 2007 as a field geologist. Stewart has extensive experience with supervising diamond drill and reverse circulation drill projects in exploration for base metals and gold, as well as, bituminous well site and drill site remediation projects. Field work also has included geochemical sampling, mapping, prospecting and gas absorption sampling. In the office he has participated in research, graphical presentation, mapping, data compilation and verification, as well as the writing of technical and property reports.

Project Geologist/Surpac Specialist

Andrew graduated from Dalhousie University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science and joined Mercator in 2007.  He has extensive experience with advanced exploration projects including project management, diamond drilling and resource evaluation.   Andrew has been working for 2 years with our resource modeling team using Surpac© 3D software and reporting to the standards of National Instrument 43-101.  He has worked in various commodities include advanced epithermal and mesothermal gold and VMS and polymetallic deposits.

Project Geologist

Eddy has a B.Sc. from University of Aberdeen and Masters in Applied Geology, Applications and Management of Geological Resource from University of Manchester.  He joined Mercator in 2011 and has recently been involved in resource and deposit scale diamond drilling for a large iron ore project.  Eddy has a strong background in mineralogy and metamorphic geology as well as environmental site assessment.

Project Geologist/GIS Specialist

Amy has a B.Sc. from Acadia University, a Masters from the University of Victoria and an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems from COGS.  She joined Mercator in 2011 and brings a broad base of international experience including uranium in Africa and gold in Australia.  In addition to her strong background in geology she also offers extensive experience in remote sensing, GIS mapping and a data compilation.

Project Geologist
Beau graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2009 and joined Mercator in 2011.  He is an experienced geologist and manager of remote drill programs, and has worked in gold, moly/tungsten and iron ore. Beau also has a strong background in environmental geology and biology.
